NICU's are Filling with Babies Once Again

A Respiratory Therapist reached out to share what’s they’re seeing in the delivery room:

I’ve been an RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) for almost 3 decades. I also work in a NICU as part of my coverage. We attend all high-risk deliveries and that is fairly common for RTs at many hospitals, in addition to all the areas that are covered. RTs at some facilities work solely in the NICU and L&D.

Early last year we started seeing an increasing uptick of both preterm neonates (and full term) that were requiring some level of RT intervention/resuscitation at birth. Having an infant or preterm occasionally requiring intervention isn’t unusual, but the number of deliveries we were attending in which this was needed was glaringly obvious and disturbing. When I refer to “intervention” I am referring to intubation, just CPAP (pressure) with bag-valve-mask, manual ventilation of the baby with BVM, or even CPR in a few of the cases. We are only called to deliveries when there is concern that assistance with ventilation may be required.

So the vaccine rollout appears to correlate with birthing problems, but then seems to have subsided. Of course a respiratory therapist wouldn’t see or deal with babies lost before birth. They go on:

At one point, our NICU was completely full of babies on ventilators, high-flow oxygen, CPAP, or other devices. Having a few neonates on support at our hospital at any given time was not unusual. But to have the entire NICU full was definitely an outlier, again, coming from someone with almost 30 years of experience in this area. Coincidence? I personally do not think so.

It finally started settling down after a few months, but here recently we started seeing the same uptick as we were experiencing 15-18 months ago.

Now it seems we’re seeing a second wave that’s not correlating with boosters given ~76% childbearing age (Men & Women) have had the shot in the US. While only 47.9% (across all age groups) have been boosted and many of those were administered in the lull period referenced above.

I think we’re starting to see the long term effects of these vaccines on human health and specifically reproductive health, and it’s not looking good.

There’s no way for me to know what the vaccination status was (or is) of the mother and father and I’m careful to how much I comment on the obvious, but it’s becoming clear that more of my colleagues are also now beginning to question what in the hell is happening. Seeing your videos definitely makes some of us pause, despite many of our fellow providers legitimately thinking the vaccinations are needed.

It’s frustrating to see this problem still swept under the rug despite all we know. At the same time it’s encouraging to see that even the vaccine supporters are starting to open their eyes.

Given the shedding, reverse transcription recently confirmed, my only hope is that we’re not too late.
